How to Share Secure Self-Destructing Memos

Need to share a password, API key, or sensitive note? SecureMint's secure memo creates encrypted, self-destructing messages that are deleted after being read once. The content is E2E encrypted — even the server cannot read your memo.

SecureMint uses zero-knowledge design. The server cannot read your data.

Steps

1

Write your memo

Type your confidential message — a password, API key, or any sensitive text.

2

Set options

Choose expiration time and whether to enable burn-after-reading. You can also set a password for extra security.

3

Share the link

Send the generated link to the recipient. The decryption key is embedded in the URL fragment.

4

Memo self-destructs after reading

Once the recipient opens the link, the encrypted content is immediately deleted from the server. The link can never be used again.

Why It's Secure

  • E2E encryption with AES-256-GCM — the server only stores ciphertext.
  • Burn-after-reading: content is permanently deleted after first access.
  • Email notification when the memo is read (with Pro plan).
  • Configurable expiration time from 1 hour to 7 days.

FAQ

Can I verify if the memo was read?
Yes. The dashboard shows read status. Pro plan users also receive email notifications when a memo is read.
What if I need to cancel a sent memo?
You can cancel (delete) a memo before it's read from the dashboard. Once read, it's already been deleted by the burn-after-reading feature.
