For recipients of a SecureMint .enc file. Restore the original file using just the password — no install, no account.
1
Get the .enc file ready
Save the .enc file you received from the sender — via email, USB, or a share link download. All work the same.
Drag & Drop
2
Open the Decrypt page
Open the SecureMint Decrypt page (/decrypt). No signup, no app install.
3
Drop the file and enter the password
Drag & drop the .enc file, then type the password you received from the sender.
4
Click 'Decrypt'
Press the button — AES-256-GCM decryption runs in your browser. A progress bar shows the status.
5
Download the original file
On success, a 'Download' button appears. Click to save the original file. If the password is wrong or the file was tampered with, decryption will fail automatically.
Tips
- 🔑Receive the password through a separate channel (voice, phone, secure memo) — not the same email as the file
- 🔒Decryption runs entirely in your browser. The file and password never reach any server
- ⚠️AES-256-GCM detects tampering automatically. If decryption fails despite the correct password, the file may be corrupted
